Teachers need to develop students' vocabulary intentionally, through direct instruction and offer them as much rich and varied language experiences as possible, in the classroom. One way to instruct in vocabulary development is through the use of labeling activities. Labeling activities allow teachers to presents information, visually, and also allow students to expand their vocabulary.
